Remake of El Agente Topo (2020)
Synopsis
Charles, a retired man, finds a new lease on life when he answers an ad for a private investigator and becomes a spy in an undercover investigation at a nursing home. Michael Schur was inspired to create “A Man On the Inside” after watching the Chilean documentary “The Mole Agent.” He says, “The Mole Agent” is powerful because it makes people feel something remarkably similar, regardless of age, ethnicity, or gender, and I would describe that feeling very reductively as, “I have to call my mom.” In our show, we try to do something similar with the tone: basically, does our show contribute to that feeling of wanting to call our moms?
I love Ted Danson!
And he played a really good widower stuck in a rut of grief after the loss of his wife. The show warms the heart and portrays the companionship that family and friends need as we age, especially after the loss of a loved one.
It’s also hilarious and funny, in typical Danson fashion
It’s easy to watch and laugh at, with its heartwarming moments, and I can’t wait to see a second season! It starts off fast and easy to follow, and all 8 episodes are easy to watch.
And it doesn’t hurt that it has an amazing cast!
I recommend it to anyone who loves funny comedies but also wants something to feel good about.
